Indie Dev Retreat

Bali, November 2024

Disclaimer: This is still work in progress. And more an idea than concrete offer.

The idea:

Spend a week in Bali and get to know new people and learn from each other. Maybe we even build a product together. (And I want another reason to go to Bali again).

I’m Joe and I will be there in the villa and am not doing this to earn some money. I just love the idea of this retreat. I will be very transparent with all the costs, and we share them equally.

🌴 What a day might look like 🌴

  • Get up early (7am?)
  • Do Yoga together (we are in Bali after all)
  • Breakfast
  • A few hours of work/collaboration. Or you do some client work if you need to. No pressure.
  • Lunch
  • A workshop (more below)
  • And then some chill/fun in the afternoon. (Surfing, beach, coconuts)
  • Dinner together
  • And some chill talks in the evening

Estimated Costs 💰

  • The villa will cost max 1000$ per day for a 6-8 bed villa. Which would be a nice one. Depending on how many people and single or double occupancy, it will be
    • Around 500-1000$ per week
  • Food and drinks: Bali is still quite cheap. 50$ a day for really good food. And this is definitely on the higher end, you can still find Nasi Goreng for 2$. However, if we all agree me might get a personal chef to save some time :)
    • Max 450$
  • Activities: Another 40$ per day I would say
    • ~300$

Totalling to 1150-1700$ for a week.

Accomodation

If you guys want to decide with me, I can preselect a few villas and we vote on the one we want. I’d prefer Canggu over Ubud or Uluwatu. But I’m open for anything really.

About Me

Your Name

Hi there! I'm Joe, mid thirties, from Austria. I'm a Flutter developer and I love to build apps. I've been self-employed for years and freelancing is still my main income. However I'm now also focusing on building my own apps. I have a few apps in the app stores already.

When I'm not coding, you can find me running, biking, playing computer games (CS2 and indie games) or reading fantasy books (I'm a big fan of Brandon Sanderson).
